Pahang is the third
largest state in Malaysia and occupies the huge Pahang River basin, which is
bordered to the north by Kelantan, to the west by Perak, Selangor, Negeri
Sembilan, to the south by Johor and to the east by Terengganu and the South
China Sea. Teluk Chempedak an
enclosed bay is one of the main
attractions with a nice stretch of beach.
It is a favorite spot
with the locals, who indulge in activities such as swimming, surfing and the
adrenaline filled jet skiing sport. One can also explore the nearby jungle area
for the country’s flora and fauna wealth, with a few different species of
plant life, insects, small animals and monkeys inhabiting the small area. The
place to see while in Pahang is the Taman
Negara;
one of Malaysia’s oldest tropical National Park, which covers an area of
4,343sq km and is sprawled across the states of Pahang, Kelantan and
Terengganu, and houses many animals and plants.
The other exciting areas to look out for are the Gunung Tahan, which is 2187m in height and is the tallest mountain in Peninsula Malaysia, ideal for stretching your endurance level. Other places to visit are the cave exploration at Gua Telinga, river rafting, rapids shooting on Sungai Tembeling, a picnic trip to Lata Berkoh Rapids, fishing at Sungai Tahan, Keniam, Sepia and visits to an Orang Asli settlement.
So, come and captivate your senses with the sights
and sounds of Malaysia.
